Case Study

Client: Real World
Real World studios
Due to severe flooding over a number of years a large section of river bank upstream from Real World, Peter Gabriel’s recording studios in Box, had become unstable and a mature tree had collapsed into the river. Tree Parts were brought in to design and build a sustainable solution to secure the river bank and promote conservation, using 100% sustainable products.
Using responsibly sourced timber from Real World’s own local saw mill, we set out to re-form a stable structure, from which to create a new ‘living wall’…

Removing the collapsed tree, to be replanted on completion

Pile driving the timbers in preparation for weaving in live willow stems

Lateral timbers from the fallen tree recycled as supportive beams
